Maureen is a registered Legal Practitioner, Notary Public and Conveyancer, having graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 1994 (LLBS Hons.); the University of Dundee in 2000 (LLM); and obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Labour Law jointly conferred by the Universities of Cape Town, Zimbabwe, Namibia and the National University of Lesotho in 2004. She has a wealth of experience in commercial law and banking and financial services regulation, encompassing advice and legal opinions, drafting and litigation, with a strong bias towards international business transactions and natural resources law and policy. She also has a wealth of experience in media law practice, estate planning and administration, and has undertaken arbitration in numerous labour disputes as Arbitrator; and has represented parties in such disputes. She has successfully undertaken forensic investigation, heading the legal teams in such investigations. Maureen is an accomplished Toastmaster, and served as President of Engineers Toastmasters Club in the year 2015-16. She also served as Club Secretary for the Rotary Club of Msasa in the year 2015-16. Among her board seats are a FMCG manufacturing company, a private financial services company; and in the past she has served on the boards of a private university, a private voluntary organisation, a state enterprise and a statutory commission.
Innocent graduated top of his class from the University of Zimbabwe in 2019. He was awarded the University of Zimbabwe Book Prize, University of Zimbabwe Vice Chancellor Academic Excellence Award, and the Law Society of Zimbabwe Book Prize. He joined the Firm as a Legal Intern in 2018 and was elevated a Associate upon registration as a Legal Practitioner, Notary Public and Conveyancer in January 2020. Innocent has developed extensive expertise in research, drafting, legal opinions and is a keen litigator, with experience in commercial law, company law and labour law matters.
Pretence is a knowledgeable and results-driven Legal Practitioner. She joined Chitewe Law Practice in October 2015 as a Legal Intern. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of South Africa, which she attained in 2020. She also holds of a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in English from the University of Zimbabwe, which she attained in 2014. Over the years, she has acquired extensive experience and expertise in Debt Collection; conducting detailed legal research in various areas of the law; drafting contracts, legal opinions, court process and pleadings in civil and criminal litigation; and has experience in undertaking legal forensic investigations. Since her registration as a Legal Practitioner in 2022, she has shown tenacity and attention to detail in representing clients in court.

We strive to deliver quality service and provide good value for money. In general, our fees are based on time spent on the job, the complexity of the matter and the responsibility carried. We use the Zimbabwe Law Society tariff of fees as a guide, and have in force an internal charge out rate for non-litigious work, which is reviewed periodically in line with market and economic changes.
